News and Randomosity
Geia sas. Well, it's news time again. Several interesting things going on here today, though nothing mind-blowingly upsetting. All comes from

Of course, I give my commentary along with the link, so worth reading if you want to see the innerworkings of my brain. lol
Lets start with a very pressing issue, the economy.
Oh lovely! Spiros was just telling me of killings that are going on for money. Apparently, there was this guy who sold lottery tickets who was killed outside his tore, going to his house with the money. Another casheer in a different store was thrown into a bathroom at gun and knifepoint and money was stolen, but no one knows how much. He's actually getting this from a sports site but it has different news on it too.
Sports yay!

So it looks like we're doing very well in sports at least. I really hope we make it to the World Cup in 2010. That would be so fucking cool!

Well, I'm not surprised that ND's lead is slipping. How could it not given the recent scandals and now, the problems with the economy. Whether or not New Democracy is responsible for those things, the people will see it that way due to the way they've handled issues in the past. The thing that surprised me is that 43% of the people thought that New Democracy would beat PASOK should there be another election. And why are they holding onto Rousopoulos? what would be the difference if they found another spokesman? I mean, they'll just say what they tell him to say right? Btw, that was a genuine question.

I'm not even touching which side is right and which side is wrong. This kind of thing is so typical that it's pointless. What I don't understand is why so many people think it's necessary to climb mountains. I don't mean the religious ones or scientists trying to make new discoveries, but everyone else. I mean, what are you proving by going out there and climbing Mt. Olumpos or any other mountain for that matter? Then, they have to go and endanger the lives of others by getting stuck.

Four years to finalise a divorce? Oh my Gods! Does anyone know how long it would take in America? I doubt that! long. Even two years is absolutely ridiculous. What could be the reasoning behind that? I mean, barring a custodity battle or something.
Please, anyone who's good with the stock market, read this next one. I need help understanding it and my comments explain a little more on my stock ignorance in general.

I wish I understood more about the stock market. What is short selling? Why is it bad? I certainly understand that all of these stocks are falling and this is a very bad thing. If people don't invest, money is lost and it harms the economy. But what do these percentages mean. How much, in real money, is the loss of 1 or 2 or 7%? Oh, and on a related sidenote, I finally found a site that'll let me keep track of the Athens Stock Exchange.

I know that it's not a good idea to watch only the Greek markets, but I don't want to get overwhelmed.

This is part of that land scandal I mentioned a few weeks ago. How much land do these people need? Shouldn't the people get some? I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Jesus want to *help* the poor not *hurt* them? I donno. Maybe, cause I'm pagan, I got it all backward, but I thought that real Christians took pleasure in seeing others happy, not in taking away their means of living and their land.
Well, that's about it. Spiros and I are spending a wonderful weekend together and my bad mood has been put to rest for the time being. The past few days have actually been really good and the food was excellent. He made potatoes, squash and eggplant all fried and it was soooooo good! Maybe, we can pick some more up at shop Rite.
